OK for lack of a better title...
well it's because I've used a base piece that looks a bit like the Maori design that is based off a hammerhead shark. And it started off mostly star-shaped. I've designed it to work a bit like a fractal, each layer (mostly) gets bigger by 103x as it goes towards the edges.
I plan to do more of these kinds of picture. This one is also up in another coloring version, [link]
